Welcome to Pomaria Kohanga Reo, nestled in the heart of Auckland, a vibrant hub of early childhood education and care. Since our humble beginnings, we've been more than just a preschool - we are a thriving community, where the hearts, minds, and spirits of tamariki (children) aged 0-5 years grow and flourish within an environment that embraces Te Ao Māori (Māori culture and language). At Pomaria Kohanga Reo, we believe in nurturing our tamariki holistically - mind, body, and spirit. Our dedicated team of kaiako (educators) work tirelessly to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes early childhood education, fostering curiosity, and inspiring creativity. We are proud supporters of the 20 hours free education for children over 3 years, ensuring accessibility and affordability for all families within our community. In our kohanga (nest), we recognize the importance of language in shaping a child's identity and sense of belonging. The gentle cadence of Te Reo Māori echoes through our halls, as we instill the richness of our Māori heritage into each and every one of our tamariki. We understand that children learn best when they are immersed in their culture, and we strive to create an environment where this can happen naturally. Our doors are always open to the wider Auckland community, as we believe that strong connections foster a sense of belonging and security for our tamariki. Our early childhood education program is designed around the individual needs of each child, focusing on their unique strengths, interests, and curiosities. We work closely with parents and whānau (extended family) to ensure consistency in values and beliefs, creating a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success. At Pomaria Kohanga Reo, we are more than just a childcare center - we are a beacon of hope and opportunity for the next generation. We invite you to join our community, to share in the laughter, growth, and love that fills our kohanga every day. Together, we can nurture the future leaders, innovators, and dreamers of Aotearoa New Zealand.

Great service
“Pointed out future issues. Friendly, nothing too much trouble. I forgot my house key and the lovely lady brought it to my house plus delivered my car home.”
Terrible
“Stuffed up hob for hole. Then came and patched it leaving big gaps all round. Came a second time to fix and while sealed is not the new bench I paid for. I am still waiting to hear back on a resolution for the botched bench. I would not recommend”
Bad
“My mother when into buy a new iPhone and the sales person put her old SIM card into the new phone. At the point of sale charged her $20 for this. This charge was not disclosed to her until very end!”
An absolutely awesome job
“Peter restored my father’s old watch from broken and abandoned to a beautiful and perfectly functioning treasure.”
