Welcome to CanTeen Southland, a vibrant beacon of hope and support for the young people of our beautiful city. Since 2014, we've been committed to empowering Rangatahi (young people) through individual support, therapy, and peer interactions. We understand that adolescence can be a challenging time, especially when faced with cancer or other serious illnesses within the family. Located in the heart of Southland, our organisation is more than just a welfare group; we're a community of understanding, resilience, and growth. Our story began as an extension of the national CanTeen family, with a vision to provide a safe space where students, women, and all young people can come together to share their experiences, learn coping strategies, and build friendships that last a lifetime. Our therapeutic programs and camps are designed to help our members navigate their unique journeys. From counselling sessions and workshops to recreational activities and skill-building workshops, we strive to ensure every young person who walks through our doors finds something meaningful to engage with. But our support doesn't end when the campfire fades or the workshop concludes. Through CanteenConnect.org, we offer specialised online support for those who need it most. This virtual space allows us to reach more young people across Southland and beyond, ensuring no one faces their challenges alone. We believe in the potential of every individual we meet, and our mission is to help them discover, nurture, and realise that potential.
