Upokongaro School was established in 1870 located on State Highway 4, Whanganui. March 2020, we celebrated 150 years of learning with students, families, whanau and the wider community. We currently have a roll of 128 students catering from Years 1 to 8 and are rated as a decile 2 school. With learners who identify as Māori making up 73% of the school's roll and NZ European/Pākehā 27%.
