More Information about Tongariro River Wines

Tucked away in the heart of Turangi, nestled amongst rolling hills and the tranquil Tongariro River, lies a hidden gem known as Tongariro River Wines. Since our humble beginnings, we've been more than just a restaurant supplies provider; we're a vibrant hub where food, wine, and camaraderie intertwine. Our story started with a shared passion for exquisite wines and the desire to bring a touch of sophistication to our idyllic town. Over the years, we've grown into a one-stop destination for all things restaurant, from supplies and maintenance to design, and even wine tasting at our Cellar Door. Our cellar houses an impressive selection of Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Rosé, carefully crafted by local winemakers, each bottle telling a unique story of the Tongariro Valley's rich terroir. Whether you're looking to stock your restaurant or bistro, or simply enjoy a glass of our finest vintages, we invite you to indulge in the charm of our Cellar Door. Prior to May 1, 2016, Tongariro River Wines served as an enchanting venue for various events, from intimate dinners to grand weddings. Although we've since transitioned into a more focused restaurant supplies business, the spirit of celebration remains alive in our hearts. If you fancy a game of chess under the sun, our giant chess set (available until May 1, 2016) provided an unusual yet delightful pastime. While we've retired our kings and queens to their rightful place, we continue to create memorable experiences for our valued customers. At Tongariro River Wines, we believe in the power of hospitality, the joy of good food, and the magic of a perfectly poured glass of wine. We invite you to step into our world, where every visit is an opportunity to savor the finer things in life and create lasting memories. Whether you're a local or a traveler passing through, we look forward to welcoming you soon.

Disgusting Place!

“Filthy, stinking, disgraceful pet shop. SPCA needs to shut them down. Animals kept in cramped, filthy pens or glass tanks. Cats permanently housed inside like they are imprisoned. Puppies locked away rolling in their own excrement and never fed. Hideously hot in the summer months. Rabbits and guinea pigs rammed into dirty cages wrapped in filthy plastic. Don’t visit. Don’t buy. Owners ought to be ashamed of themselves.”

Disappointed

“No one attends the store, No coin machine, Had to call their contact number just to be told to go to the bakery store to get coins but the store was closed was told that someone will arrive in twenty minutes and I'm still waiting for someone to change my money for coins”

Bad

“If there was a -100 rating that would be my rating !! DO NOT USE NTF or Neville Thomson Fencing. Incompetent, our fence is unfinished, still have no gate !!! ”

Gwynneth Purdie Groube Pamela J

Passport help

“Pamela helped me by providing a phone number I could contact to get help with my Australian passport renewal. As a result of the number Pam gave me, it finally led to my queries being answered in full and getting the help I needed which I could not seem to get answers to myself. Big thanks To Pamela!”

Bad

“Ian Rapson definitely lives up to his known reputation of being the dirty deeds doctor of NZ. I’m a female patient of his last year and he made me bend over unnecessarily I couldn’t believe it! dirty ”
