About The Boys Brigade and ICONZ

"Sure and Stedfast" These three words, taken from Hebrews 6:19, and recognised across the globe, are the motto for The Boys' Brigade. As the oldest uniformed youth organisation in the world, The Boys’ Brigade has been impacting the lives of boys and young men for more than 130 years, providing them with life skills and character building that equips them to become leaders in their families, churches and communities. The Canterbury/West Coast Battalion supports 10 Boys’ Brigade companies and six ICONZ units across the central and upper South Island. Running camps, competitions, and events along with hosting regular meetings to enable all members to be kept up to date, and be involved with the running of the region. The object is "The advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness." and guides all the we do.
