More Information about Tauranga Jazz Society

Nestled in the sun-kissed city of Tauranga, where rhythm flows like the gentle currents of the nearby estuary, stands a vibrant beacon of musical passion - the Tauranga Jazz Society. Established over four decades ago, our society has grown from a small collective of jazz enthusiasts into a thriving community that resonates with the soulful pulse of this timeless genre. We are more than just a performing arts organization; we're a melting pot of talent, a nurturing ground for budding musicians, and a sanctuary for jazz aficionados. Our mission is to foster an environment where the love for jazz music can flourish, and that's exactly what we do. Every month, our city beats with the rhythm of our Jazz Jams. These evenings are more than just gigs; they're a celebration of jazz in all its forms - from swing to bebop, cool to Latin. They're a chance for musicians to collaborate, for listeners to immerse themselves in the music, and for everyone to simply lose themselves in the moment. But our commitment to jazz doesn't stop at these monthly gatherings. We organize the prestigious National Jazz Festival and the National Youth Jazz Competition, events that bring together some of the best talent from across the country. These events are more than just performances; they're opportunities for young musicians to showcase their talents, for established artists to share their wisdom, and for everyone to witness the evolution of jazz music in New Zealand. If you share our passion for jazz, we invite you to join us. Our society offers membership opportunities that grant you access to exclusive events, discounted tickets, and a chance to be part of our growing community. We also offer lessons and classes for those wanting to learn more about this beautiful genre. Whether you're a seasoned musician or a curious beginner, we welcome you with open arms. So come, join us in our musical journey. Experience the soul-stirring rhythm of jazz, learn from the best, and become part of our vibrant community here in Tauranga. Together, we can keep the spirit of jazz alive and thriving for generations to come.

WORSE

“I went there at 2;40pm for my 10 months baby appointment at 2;45pm. While we were asked to wait, my baby was just laughing to watch the fish tank, the reception lady asked us to go out just because he was loud. it was so hot outside. but she said you have to go and we waited outside in the sun. while we came back inside and asked for wait timing, she said you were quite early so you have to wait. it was already 3; 05 pm. Very disappointed and upset. Will change the doctor soon.”
