More Information about St Vincent de Paul Society

Nestled in the heart of Auckland, St Vincent de Paul Society is a beacon of hope and compassion for those in need. With humble beginnings dating back to 1845 when we were established by Frederic Ozanam and a group of French students in Paris, our mission has always been to provide aid to the poor, the destitute, and the suffering, regardless of creed or nationality. Fast forward to today, our Auckland chapter continues this legacy, offering a wide array of services that touch the lives of countless individuals and families. Our network of Opportunity Shops and Centres serve as thriving hubs for quality second-hand items while simultaneously supporting our welfare programs. The proceeds from these stores help fund our Food Banks, which provide essential groceries to those struggling to make ends meet. But we are more than just a shop or a food bank. We offer Food Support for those facing hunger and Financial Mentoring for those seeking stability. Our Youth Programs empower the next generation, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive. And let us not forget our services for the aged, providing companionship, support, and care to those who need it most. Walking through our doors is like stepping into a community where everyone matters. Here, you'll find a warm welcome, a listening ear, and the resources you need to get back on your feet. We are more than just an organisation; we are a family bound together by a shared commitment to making Auckland a better place for all its residents. So whether you're in need of assistance or looking to give back, know that St Vincent de Paul Society is here for you. Together, we can make a difference and build a brighter future for everyone in our city. Welcome to our family; welcome to St Vincent de Paul Society.
