More Information about Kohanga Reo O Ngongotaha

Nestled in the heart of Bay of Plenty, Kohanga Reo O Ngongotaha stands as a vibrant beacon of Māori culture, childcare, and early education. Established with a deep-rooted passion for nurturing the next generation, our kōhanga has been cherished by the community since its inception. Our mission is to provide a safe, loving, and stimulating environment for tamariki aged 0 to 5, fostering their intellectual, emotional, and physical growth. Here, we believe that every child is a taonga (treasure), and it's our privilege to guide them on their journey of discovery and learning. At Kohanga Reo O Ngongotaha, we embrace the power of Te Reo Māori and sign language as a fundamental tool for communication, immersing our tamariki in the rich tapestry of our cultural heritage. Through this immersion, they not only learn the language but also develop an understanding and appreciation for the values, traditions, and stories that make up our unique identity. In addition to our linguistic focus, we place great emphasis on physical education (PE), ensuring that each tamariki develops strong motor skills and a love for physical activities. We understand that play is the work of young children, and our spacious, well-equipped facilities are designed to inspire creativity and foster curiosity. Our early childhood education program is guided by the principles of Whanaungatanga (relationships), Kotahitanga (unity), Akoranga Maumahara (active exploration), and Manaakitanga (caring for). These principles underpin everything we do, creating an environment where every tamariki feels valued, loved, and supported. We believe that a child's education extends beyond the classroom and into their whānau (family) life. Therefore, we actively encourage whānau involvement in our kohanga reo, fostering close relationships between home and school. Together, we work towards creating a united front, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our tamariki. So, if you're seeking a childcare and education centre that truly embraces Te Ao Māori (the Māori world), where your child can grow in a loving, stimulating environment while learning Te Reo Māori, sign language, PE, and much more, then look no further than Kohanga Reo O Ngongotaha. We warmly invite you to come and visit us, meet our dedicated team, and experience the magical world that awaits your child within our kōhanga reo.

Passport help

“Pamela helped me by providing a phone number I could contact to get help with my Australian passport renewal. As a result of the number Pam gave me, it finally led to my queries being answered in full and getting the help I needed which I could not seem to get answers to myself. Big thanks To Pamela!”
