About Kaipara Hertiage Machinery Museum

“Jewel on the Hill” - Kaipara Heritage Machinery Museum built overlooking the stunning view Dargaville. Displaying machinery, equipment and tractors once used by the pioneers of the Kaipara District. Attractions include a Ruston Proctor Portable Steam Engine and our 100+ year old fully operational woolshed. Recent additions from the famous ‘Kumara Box’ include. Barry Searle and May and Warren Suckling’s Marine and Archaeological Collection Follow the Ancient Kauri Trail and we are located within a stone’s throw from the wonderful Dargaville Museum. Its a must see! The Kaipara Heritage Machinery (Dargaville) Inc. formerly Kaipara Vintage Machinery Club was founded in 2001 by a group of enthusiastic Gentlemen with an interest in preserving all types of vintage machinery that was once used in the Kaipara area, whether it was used in Timber, Gum and pastoral development of the land. So much vintage and veteran machinery and implements have found their way to a new home, some in excellent condition others needing varying degrees of T.L.C. Tractors of many shapes, sizes and colours plus farm implements cowshed and dairy equipment, corn shellers, timber and logging machinery, horse and bullock harness. The 110 year old woolshed has been shifted to our site and is fully operational, the plant being driven by a Lister 3 H.P. petrol stationary motor. So many treasures that are in storage can be displayed to advantage, evoking memories amongst the more senior citizens and helping our younger people to learn and appreciate the history of our area and life in days gone by.

Sausages( beef) & scotch fillet

“Jaffa. Have been searching for sausage that reminded me of my childhood. The beef sausages did exactly that. I,m a jaffa & searched from Pokeno bacon to the Northshore & in between. And have not found a flavoursom banger like these. All the so called gourmete sausages & all the so called sausages of the year are filled with preservatives & bread crumbs & leave you wondering . So thumbs up to little old Morewa to bring home the bacon🤣 As for scotch fillet tops too👍 Will be stopping in again”

Bad

“If you want to know the meaning of incapable, go to this place. The people are horrible and the service is second to nothing. The owner doesn't no what he is doing and the accounted cant read numbers”

“Shipped an EquiBalance to Germany nearly 10 years ago. Fantastic trailer for warmbloods. Loaded immediately and traveled beautifully. No previous "training". Arrive fresh after 4+ hours.”
