Nestled in the heart of Northland, Kaipara District Council is more than just a local authority; we're your dedicated partner in creating a thriving community where people love to live, work, and play. Established in 2013, our roots run deep within the rich soil of this beautiful region, as we strive to preserve its unique character while driving progress towards a sustainable future. We're proud to be your civil defence team, always vigilant and ready to respond to any challenges that nature may throw our way. Our local roads and footpaths are meticulously maintained, ensuring smooth journeys for you, whether it's the daily commute or an adventure through our picturesque landscapes. Our commitment extends beyond the asphalt, reaching into the heart of your homes. We manage water services and a robust sewerage system, ensuring clean, safe supplies that nurture life in every sense. When it comes to waste management, we lead the charge with efficient rubbish collection, recycling programs, and carefully managed landfills. We're not just about infrastructure; we believe in fostering vibrant, green spaces where communities can gather, grow, and flourish. From the pristine parks dotting our countryside to the bustling sportsfields that echo with laughter and cheers, we strive to provide spaces that cater to every interest. But we're not just builders of infrastructure or preservers of green spaces; we're community hubs. Our recreation centers are more than buildings—they're the beating heart of our towns and villages. They host laughter-filled family gatherings, inspiring arts and cultural events, and keep us physically fit through sports and fitness programs. At Kaipara District Council, we're more than just a local authority. We're your partner, your guide, and your steward. Together, we're crafting a future that's as beautiful and resilient as the district we call home. Welcome to Kaipara—where community spirit meets progressive thinking!

Wrong way round.
“When installing a Legacy-Tekapo toilet roll holder we found the instructions put the base plate recesses horizontally they need to be top and bottom (vertically). We now have an extra hole in the wall, but were lucky the fully assembled holder has covered it.The grub screw with the allen key to do it up is a nightmare where as an ordinary slot for a flat screwdriver would be far easier and less damaging to freshly painted walls.”
Great people great service
“The store is run by great people with great customer service. The only thing that lets it down is the prices.. a lot of items are cheaper to purchase brand new, especially kids the clothing. It's not very often we can afford to shop here anymore, it use to be our favourite shop.”
Bad
“Dont go here, Dont buy Holden Spares off Him as they will Be non tested and he will refuse to talk to you when it is faulty. Anger problem is understatement”
Unfinished
“they put a new element in our hot water cylinder but left without turning on the solar water again...result is 1 year pump running dry so the bearings are shot and no solar heated water for the whole year, now expensive to fix after they stuffed up”
