Nestled in the heart of Waikato, Hetherington House stands as a beacon of warmth and care for those seeking respite and convalescent homes. Established with a vision to provide exceptional rest home care, we've been a cherished part of this community for many years, growing our family one resident at a time. Our story began when the Hetherington family, who have always held a deep affection for their community, opened their doors to those in need of convalescent care. Over the years, we've evolved into a full-fledged aged residential care facility, offering a comprehensive range of services tailored to our residents' unique needs. At Hetherington House, we understand that each day brings new opportunities for growth, learning, and social interaction. That's why our days are filled with engaging activities designed to stimulate the mind, body, and soul. From art classes and gardening sessions to exercise programs and musical events, there's always something enriching happening here. Our dedicated team of nurses and caregivers work tirelessly to ensure that every resident receives the best nursing care possible. We believe in holistic health, focusing not just on physical well-being but also on emotional and spiritual needs. This is reflected in our regular church services, which provide a comforting touch for those seeking solace or fellowship. We take immense pride in our meal preparation, offering nutritious and appetizing meals that cater to individual dietary requirements. Our residents often tell us how much they look forward to our daily culinary delights! Hetherington House is more than just a rest home; it's a community where friendships bloom, skills are honed, and lives are enriched. We invite you to visit us, experience the warmth of our family, and discover why Hetherington House has been a trusted choice for convalescent care in Waikato for so many years.

“Unfortunately this group are founded and corner stoned in the believe of segregation. Even though they are a psychologist group they do not respect individuality or personal views and would rather belittle people and their views. Psychologist duty are to respect people and their views, to help them grow, to be non judgemental and supportive in a safe space. It seems in this group of psychologist personal views are more important than client/patient health and well-being”
