More Information about Dyer's Upholstery Services

Nestled in the heart of historic Canterbury, Dyer's Upholstery Services has been a cherished fixture of our community since 1987. Over three decades ago, we embarked on a journey to bring the art of upholstery and trimming to life, transforming worn-out furniture into timeless treasures. Our passion for preserving history and creating comfort has never wavered. Walk through our doors, and you'll be greeted by the tantalizing aroma of fresh leather, the gentle hum of sewing machines, and the warm smiles of our skilled artisans. Each piece that graces our workshop is treated with the utmost care and respect, whether it's a vintage armchair from the 1950s or a contemporary sofa that demands a modern twist. Our craftspeople are masters of their trade, boasting expertise in techniques such as recovering, restoration, diamond buttoning, deep buttoning, and repairs. They breathe new life into furniture with an eye for detail and a knack for blending the old with the new. Yet, our skills extend beyond mere repair—we offer an array of upholstery supplies, ensuring that local crafters can continue to weave their own tales of restoration and rejuvenation. At Dyer's Upholstery Services, we believe in more than just stitching together fabric or replacing worn-out cushions. We breathe life back into stories told by furniture, giving them a second chance at grace and beauty. Our commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and community has made us the go-to destination for discerning homeowners and passionate crafters alike. So, if you find yourself in Canterbury with a cherished piece that's seen better days or are seeking upholstery supplies to launch your creative journey, drop by Dyer's Upholstery Services. We're more than just an upholstery and supply shop—we're a community of storytellers, committed to preserving the past while crafting the future, one stitch at a time.

Excellent

“Excellent”

Bad

“I can't speak to the quality of the service provided, but the owner Mark Ayre is the biggest asshole I have ever met.”

Please Explain

“Your customers are wondering "A nearby auto-mechanics building, Fitzgerald Auto Point on Grant Rd in Thorndon, acted as an off-site kitchen to prepare food for the protesters."”

Passengers

“How much”

Terrible

“The place is filthy. The fridge freezers still had blood in them, and didnt go properly. The toilets were never cleaned properly, the recreation room was used as the managers private bar, lots of permanents, some love but some toxic. The disabled toilet was illegal, and the women's toilets would often smell. The kitchen was dirty and cold with ovens that did not work properly. How it passed Council inspections I don't know. Don't go.”
