More Information about Christchurch Symphony Orchestra

Nestled in the heart of Canterbury, the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra (CSO) has been a beacon of musical excellence for over five decades. Established in 1968, we are a dynamic collective of passionate musicians, dedicated to sharing the transformative power of music with our community and beyond. Our orchestral performances are not just concerts; they're journeys into realms of emotion, inspiration, and pure creativity. We collaborate with various arts organizations, ensuring each performance is a unique fusion of talent, culture, and artistry. From the grandeur of a full-scale symphony to intimate chamber recitals, our repertoire spans the rich tapestry of music, catering to diverse tastes and preferences. Beyond our concert stage, we are deeply committed to community engagement. Our Community Engagement Programme reaches out to various sectors, breaking down barriers and inviting everyone to embrace the magic of music. We believe that music transcends boundaries and brings people together, fostering a sense of unity and shared experience. School residencies form an integral part of our outreach efforts. By immersing young minds in the world of music, we aim to inspire the next generation of musicians, composers, and music lovers. Our collaboration with educational institutions extends beyond the classroom, providing opportunities for students to perform alongside our esteemed musicians. In the spirit of collaboration, we actively seek partnerships with local arts organizations, cultural events, and festivals. This shared endeavor enriches both parties, creating a vibrant cultural landscape in Canterbury that resonates with global significance. At the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, we are more than just musicians. We are a living testament to the power of music, a bridge connecting hearts and minds, and a catalyst for change and growth. Join us on this musical journey, as we continue to enrich lives through our shared passion for music.

Bad

“Useless. 2 sprays $150 and still getting cockroaches in the house. Won't use again”

Worst Service Ever

“Clippa Bags are absolutely hopeless. Either very late with pick ups or don't pick up at all. Unreliable billing. Often charge for services that were not delivered. Avoid Clippa Bags like the plague. You will only be disappointed and frustrated.”

Painting in 1degree during winter

“Worst painter in town”

Danger Is Ok?

“Manuka St Castlecliff , Payne trucks often at cattle run across entire road so anyone coming round corner of Mill Rd into Manuka St cannot see what is coming at all, must not only cross onto the wrong side of the road but onto the grass verge to get around. The seeing distance does not exist. There exists a real danger, regularly. Why no traffic safety people when blocking the road like this? Is it legal to park across a now busy public road creating a danger with no safety plans are used?”

Top quality

“Storm Proofed Roofing LTD really is showing up those big companies out there I have not seen a family small business with heaps of potential this guy utterly smashes out the workload he is well communicated and high quality you are going to go far”
